This paper is not about students, teachers, nor professionals in the field of Design. It is merely a historical review of the evolution of the field of Design Education.
Some questions to start with:
How did Design Education evolve?
What caused it to evolve?
What are the stages or phases that it took?
Where is it heading? What’s the future of Design Education?
Where there any significant turn of events that caused the shifts in mentality?
Did human needs change with time and forced the field to change direction?
Where there any problems, challenges, or dissatisfactions in the field that made it take a different course from the past?
Where there different sets of values that changed and/or were acquired over time?
Dos & DON’Ts:
Please do not list a summary of each article you read. The final delivery should look like an academic journal article, where the writer’s voice and viewpoints are clear and the facts are synthesized harmoniously whether in a chronological order or a different logical order of ideas. Please feel free to add headings and sub-headings when necessary.
Please don’t hesitate to ask a lot of questions at any time in order to make sure that your hard work is on the right track with my needs. The less revisions and re-dos, the better.
