- CRITICALLY EVALUATE – draw upon academic research and industry sources to create an argument that compares and contrasts the key elements of event leveraging and event impacts. The academic and industry sources that you use provide the support for your arguments, and your arguments provide the support for your conclusion.

Content of the essay:

Introduction – “this essay endeavours to critically evaluate (the topic)….in order to do this you must define (the key concepts)…”

Event Leveraging – What is event leveraging? Is it just an academic concept and model, or is it a working strategy or tactic? Can you find specific examples or case studies of event leveraging from academic or industry sources? Does timing matter when considering event leverage? What outcomes can it produce? How are event leverage outcomes evaluated and are these outcomes sustainable?

Event impacts – What are event impacts, how are they defined and categorised? Do event impacts occur spontaneously? Are event impacts important to stakeholders? How are event impacts evaluated monitored and managed for sustainability? TBL? What examples from academic work and case studies can you use to support your arguments here?

Differs – Make sure you clearly state what you think the differences are? Are these differences positive or negative? How and why are these differences significant for knowledge and events management bidding, planning and delivery? Or are these differences not significant?

Conclusion – the conclusion should unambiguously address the task that has been set for the assignment and should draw together and re-state the main points of the essay. The conclusion summarises your arguments and allows you to clarify your opinions/s on the relevant issues.
