Crime in Victorian Pop Culture

  • ?  Students must write a paper that explores some aspect of crime in Victorian popular culture. Students choosing to write about a topic other than one of the assigned texts must receive express written permission from the instructor at least three weeks before the due date of the research paper.

  • ?  The paper should make a specific claim—presented as an argumentative thesis—and then support that claim with concrete evidence from their primary and secondary sources.

  • ?  Students should remember as they develop their papers that they should focus on more than just story and content, but also on narrative and form.
