Rhetorical Situation Paper

This paper is for a rhetorical reasearch methods class

For this paper you will analyze the rhetorical situation surrounding South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s 2015 speech on “Removing the Confederate Flag.” Analyzing the rhetorical situation will require you to research the speaker and the situation addressing the elements of exigence, audience, and constraints. Keep in mind Bitzer’s description of the rhetorical situation and fitting response. You should include support material from at least 4 reputable sources? external to the speech in order to justify your interpretation of the situation. To give you an idea of the types of resources you might use for this paper, some links to online articles are listed. You may use any or all of these to meet the requirements of the assignment.
