Personal Narrative Assignment

Description:
For this assignment, you will conjure a scene (or a few scenes) that dramatizes a major decision or conflict in your life. It should be somewhere in the ballpark of 2,000 words, and accounts for 20% of your final grade. Tag on an afterword afterwards of about 200 words that addresses your decisions about the 1) setting and set, 2) dialogue, monologues, and asides, 3) comedy and tragedy, 4) complications and conflict, 5) exposition, narration, and stage directions, 6) subplots, flashbacks and foreshadowing, 7) breaking or keeping the fourth wall, 8) gestures and props, 9) whether your play takes place within the classical unities, and 10) your key themes and arguments Bring a draft copy to workshop in class with a partner on Wednesday, April 12.
