For your final assignment, select a topic that reflects a financial issue of importance to you or to your institution. State the issue clearly and develop a plan for your institution to resolve the issue. NOTE: Do not include sensitive financial information or refer to any specific person at your institution in your writings. Incorporate the following concepts into your final paper:
The budget processes of private and public colleges/universities
The various sources or streams of funding for higher education
How colleges and universities allocate resources to balance budgets
The funding resources available to educational institutions
The major strategies for increasing revenue and decreasing expenditures
The bases for the financial dilemmas experienced in private and public higher education
The trends that influence higher education finance and its stakeholders
Review online resources about writing a literature review as necessary (see list of resources provided earlier in this syllabus.) A suggested outline for the paper is provided below.
