These Reading Responses are not summaries of the texts. You should not relate background that the reader would already know from the text itself. Instead, in 250-400 words your Reading Responses should: a) Critically engage with the texts. You should consider these responses as a way to find your voice in this course and identify your interests in relation to course material.(Nationalism/Ethnicity/ living within boarders) You may wish to use your response to ask (and/ or answer) a particular question that the texts raised for you, offer a critique, elaborate on something in the texts that you had a personal reaction to, and/ or use your response to connect the issues in the text to a personal experience. b) Engage key concepts from the course. Use these new ideas and vocabulary to help strengthen your response. c) Engage two or more course texts/ chapters in conversation with one another.
